Breezy - TRT Main Park
I didn’t get any video of when Breezy was being a wild child under the bridge today, my hands were a little full. We must have walked under the bridge a hundred times today, he eventually became a little calmer not as calm as I would like but he will get there. I even felt like we were kinda cheating today since it was a nice beautiful day, clear skies, 86 degrees and no cloud coverage to hold in the loud scary noises from the bridge. We will try again here in the near future on a cold overcast cloudy day. Poor Breezy, he has a CRAZY Mommy!

Horse Box
Dave got the black floor matts in the horse box today. We also loaded the ponies for the very first time and everyone fit perfectly with room to spare.

Dave got me bigger tires for my trailer. The old tires were only 12 inches, I will be keeping those tiny tires as spares.

Let’s Skate!
It rained all morning the other morning so I wasn’t able to drive the bike, it was just way too muddy. Its been awhile since I’ve taken Stormy skating so I decided to give it a go. OMG! I am so glad I did! He loves skating sooooo much better than the bike. I think I might have found his niche! We had an absolute blast!! Can’t wait to do it again! All this little boy needs is a halter, no bridle or bit. He did fantastic! I would never try skating with my “Wild Child”…. But Stormy was a dream!!

Float
Amy, my sweet vet next door, gave the little boys their shots, floated their teeth and cleaned their sheaths. I forgot to get a pic of Breezy, but here is Stormy getting his teeth floated.

Breezy - TRT Main Park
Monday I took Breezy to TRT Main Park. He hates the noise under the bridge with cars passing over head.

Winter Clip for Breezy
Breezy got his first winter clip today! Wow! He is looking soooooo good! He is looking like a black horse unlike last year. Last year when I first clipped him he was a brown horse. So I am extremely excited that he is a smokey black right now. The highs are in the 80s this week. Next week and the beginning of March we do have some lows of 40, but I will just blanket him. He has several blankets to choose from. He has a rain and wind sheet, a light blanket, a medium blanket, and a heavy blanket. I just ordered him a cooler blanket for after workouts, a neck cover for temps below 40, and a saddle pad for those chilly days we drive. I will clip his face tomorrow and his entire body again to even things up. I will leave his legs furry in case the temps dip below 40.
Look at all that hair from just his belly! |

Horse Box
I have the best hubby on the planet! He is always doing such nice things for me, I really appreciate him. He worked hard on my trailer for the past couple of days and it has turned out fantastic! He did an amazing job! I absolutely love it!!

Breezy - TRT Main Park
Breezy did real good today at the park. He didn’t like the loud noise of the bridge with cars flying over head nor the guys playing basket ball under the bridge, but I held on tight while he was being a wild child.

We even got to do a couple of water obstacles which he wasn’t too crazy about at first.

Day dreaming
Just day dreaming about spring and warm weather. Can’t wait till all the hair is gone and Breezy looks like this again.

Breezy - Oakmont Park
After Breezy’s performance last week, I decided to ground drive him today at Oakmont Park. It is a much quieter park than the Main Park. He did pretty good, had to work on walking through water. He hates things touching his legs and feet, which isn’t great for a trail horse, but he has always been this way since he was a baby.…so baby steps. We also had to have a discussion about going down a teeny tiny little hill, but eventually he saw things my way and LOVES teeny tiny hills now!

With all the rain we have had lately, the waterfall was really loud and scary today.

Breezy - Wild Child - TRT Main Park
I thought it would be a good idea to take Breezy to the park today, what the heck was I thinking?! We just had an ice storm where everyone in the city was cooped up in their house for the week and today, a Sunday, it got up to 70 degrees outside… and I thought it would be a good idea to take a green horse to the park! Really?! Not a good idea! The park was completely packed. People everywhere! Kids running around, babies screaming, dogs barking, parents yelling… and I brought a green pony! Breezy hasn’t been to this park in months and has never driven here. He was the perfect horse, completely calm while I harnessed him and hitched him to the bike. But as soon as I got in the bike, watch out! He became a complete WILD CHILD! Well… wild child in my book! Luckily he didn’t do anything stupid, no bucking or rearing, he just took off running and didn’t want to stop. Nervous energy at its finest! It was all I could do to get him to stop for a half a second so I could get out of the bike as I just didn’t have enough leverage in the bike. Once I was out of the bike I felt much more in control. It took about 20 minutes before I could get him to finally calm down, but even still I didn’t trust him completely. I then drove him for an additional 25 minutes, but that wasn’t a continuous drive, that was with me getting in and out of the bike when I thought he was getting nervous or when he was making me nervous. Yikes, what an adventure! When I got home from the park today I told Dave that I think i am going to start wearing a helmet when driving Breezy, better safe than sorry. Never underestimate the power of a mini!!!

Ice Storm
We are in the middle of an ice storm right now, but the high tomorrow is 50! Everything is covered in a layer of ice, we have beautiful icicles forming! It is extremely difficult to walk outside. Ponies are in the barn from last night thru tomorrow. Freezing rain the rest of today.
